To those of you who are spamming me and sending me hate mail concerning Kony 2012, I have something to say to you.
It’s insane to me that people would try to undermine something that was created out of such compassion and love just to say that the facts aren’t straight. The video, Jacob, and the Invisible Children organization IS legitimate. It was made by people who actually care about other people and are willing to do something about it.
A lot of you are saying “only 30% of the proceeds were donated.” Do you have any idea how much it costs to run an organization like this? People are sacrificing their lives towards this cause. Are you really going to be that ignorant? 30% of the revenue they generate is A LOT of money and they are making a BIG difference.
To those of you who are saying that the United States shouldn’t be involving ourselves in foreign affairs that won’t even make a difference in the grand scheme of things… what the hell is wrong with you? For one, how can you live with yourself in saying that we shouldn’t do everything we can for children that are being put into slavery, raped, forced to kill their parents and a number of other things? Everyone should be trying to change this NO MATTER WHERE THEY LIVE. Country and state borders should not define how much compassion and support we show each other.
